March 19th & 20th, 2022

December 1st, 2021 – Online Registration Opens

Teachers must register first and then work directly with their students to register them one at a time using the zFairs platform. Students should NOT register on their own.

December 15th, 2021 – Online Registration Closes

Online registration closes for student registration. No additional students may be added after this date.

December 15th, 2021 – Student Paperwork Deadline

Students are responsible for uploading their own forms and paperwork ONLINE in order to qualify for Regeneron WESEF 2022. Students must use the zFairs platform to determine which forms will be needed for your project and upload signed PDF files for all required forms.  All student paperwork must include the WESEF Abstract, Research Paper, and Research Plan.

This is also the deadline for WESEF payment for Registration Fees. Student registration for WESEF 2022 is $60. Please check with your teachers to determine if your school is covering this fee or if you are responsible.

Any student that has chosen the optional, extended deadline (Jan. 15th, 2022) MUST still submit forms 1, 1A, 1B and the research plan by the 12/15 deadline. In addition, the fee for the optional, extended deadline ($160 = $60 registration fee + $100 late fee) must also be submitted by Dec. 15th!!

January 15th, 2022 – Optional LATE Deadline

Optional LATE Deadline for final registrant paperwork (must have pre-paid $160). This includes student research paper, official abstract form and any additional project specific forms. All paperwork must be received by this date. Failure to submit necessary paper work will result in a disqualification without refund.

Any student that has chosen the optional, extended deadline (Jan. 15th) MUST still submit forms 1, 1A, 1B, research plan and payment for the optional, extended deadline ($160) by Dec. 15th!

March 19th, 2022 – Regeneron WESEF 2022 Virtual Judging Day 1

Regeneron WESEF 2022 will be held as virtual event using the zFairs platform. Students will present “slide decks” 3-6 times to professional, highly-qualified judges for a maximum of seven minutes uninterrupted. This will be followed by a five minute Q&A period.

The judging schedule is as follows with all times are EASTERN TIME ZONE:

  • Saturday 3/19 – Session 1:  9:00 am – 1:00 pm will include Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Medicine and Health, & Microbiology
  • Saturday 3/19 – Session 2: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm will include Earth Science, Engineering, Environmental, Plant Science, Neurology, & Animal Science

March 20th, 2022 – Regeneron WESEF 2022 Virtual Judging Day 2

The judging schedule is as follows with all times are EASTERN TIME ZONE:

  • Sunday 3/20 – Session 1: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm will include Behavioral Science
  • Sunday 3/20 – Session 2: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm will include Chemistry, Computers, Math, Physics, Astronomy, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics

March 21st – Reserve Judging Session

  • TBD as needed

March 24th – In Person Regeneron WESEF Awards Ceremony @ Somers High School, by invitation.

May 2022 – Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair 2021
May 8-13th 2022 – Atlanta, Georgia

Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair 2021 is planned as a hybrid event with US students attending in-person and international students attending virtually.
